Wines: Mendoza, the land of Malbec

Nothing better than a trip to the heart of the Wine Routes to discover the legends of this fascinating universe.
Mountains and desserts predominate in its geography, stony soils, hot sunny days and cool nights, valleys and vine-growing oases. This is Mendoza, land of Malbec, Argentina's emblematic variety. A place that surprises the world with the beauty of its landscapes and for the unique character of its wines.
Mendoza has 70% of the country's vineyards concentrated into 150,000 hectares, where 888 wineries co-exist. It is well known that the best Malbec comes from the oldest vineyards and from the highest zones, such as Vistalba and Las Compuertas. Among red wines: Bonarda, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Tempranillos, Merlot and Pinot Noir are the best known, in addition to Malbec; and among the white varieties are: Chardonnay, Chenin, Sauvignon Blanc, Torrontes, Semillon, Viognier and some others.
